A traditional heritage passed down from generation to generation, steaming is more than a way to use cannabis—it’s a complete spiritual experience. Learned from the Rastafari elders, steaming captures the essence of healing plants, such as rosemary, peppermint, eucalyptus and cannabis, through aromatherapy. Steaming goes beyond the herbal experience, creating family bonds, solidifying traditions and increasing the ability to engage in spiritual practice and creative inspiration. Simply put, steaming is a way of life.

STEAM CLEANER

Although there are several ways to enjoy and experience the benefits of cannabis, steaming is one of the cleanest. Steaming herb is less abrasive when compared to smoking cannabis and it helps utilize the nutrients of the plant instead of incinerating them.

IT'S ALL ELEMENTAL

Steaming combines the essential elements of the earth—earth, air, fire and water. Earth is the clay kutchie (oven) and the gritty, fire is the coals, water is used to create the steam and the air is the vapor that is created throughout the entire steaming process. These four elements come together within one vessel to create the steaming experience, helping build harmony between the mind, body and soul.

PIECE BE WITH YOU

Unlike smoking cannabis, steaming doesn’t burn the herb, as it is filtered to separate the herb from direct heat. As steaming is based on a more natural way of living, the pieces of the chalice are made with natural materials such as bamboo, coconut and calabash (gourd). Each chalice is custom built and hand carved. The Steam Chalice is made of four distinct pieces:

The Cup – Holds the water

The Kutchie – Holds the herbs

The Gritty – Separates the coal from the herbs

The Stem – Draws the vapor

WHY COCONUT CHARCOAL?

Steaming incorporates the use of coconut charcoal for several reasons. It burns at the right temperature needed for steaming, it doesn’t give off toxins harmful to humans or the environment when burning and it’s the purest form of charcoal available. To make the charcoal, coconut shells are cleaned and burned, which creates activated charcoal. This is the same form of charcoal that is touted for its ability to whiten teeth and remove impurities from within the body.
